Who we Are - an overview
Harvester’s Heart Initiative, as its name alludes to, is borne in the principle of harvest. As Jesus’ ministry started to flourish, many of his disciples were sent out as workers into His harvest field (Luke 10:1-3):

After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go. And he said to them, “The Harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest to send laborers into his harvest. Go your way; behold, I am sending you out as lambs in the midst of wolves…”

Simply put, the Harvester's Heart Initiative aims to equip the laborers sent into God's harvest. We desire to see school-leaving individuals (people completing matric) equipped and ready to be people of influence in their social environments as they enter university. We then aim to equip these first-year students to become effectual bearers of the Gospel in their lives going forward and for them to spur others on to seek Christ themselves.

We are a two-year, Christ-centred, personal and leadership development initiative, that individuals participate in during the last year of their secondary education and the first-year of their tertiary education.

Initiative
You will see that we refer to everything that we aim to achieve as being Christ-centred. This merely refers to the way in which we see the Gospel as the most effective way of bringing personal, social, societal, and environmental change in the world around us. We hope to cultivate people grounded in the Gospel, knowing their Christ-centred identity, and to send them out equipped for God's harvest.

The initiative program comprises four focus areas to establish a holistic approach to leadership and Christ-centred living in the social spheres that the individual occupies. The four focus areas are: Coaching, Leading, Discipling, and Sending.
